Happy Birthday America!

Happy Birthday America!

The 4th of July, also known as Independence Day, has been a federal holiday in the US since 1941. The tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later delegates for our original 13 colonies adopted our country’s Declaration of Independence. From 1776 to today, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence. (History.com)

Since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the United States has celebrated its birthday with picnics, parades, fireworks and family gatherings.
